Thursday training
Thursday club runs start from Heswall Squash Racquets Club, Brimstage Road, Wirral, CH60 1YL at 7.00pm. We leave promptly – please arrive in plenty of time to hear about the routes on offer and ensure that you’re not running alone!
Thursday evening training aims to complement the sessions offered on a Tuesday and a Sunday and provide some further structure to training.
These runs will vary between 5-8 miles depending on group ability and the session on offer. The sessions will vary on a week to week basis depending who is leading them and will include a variety of tempo, interval, steady state or structured workouts both on and off road.
Thursday track sessions
Around once a month we undertake track sessions at Bebington Oval. This is a shared facility with Wirral AC.
The club pays for the session which is therefore free to Pensby Runners members. These are organised group sessions led by a coach or run leader. Our arrangement with Wirral AC does not permit members attending and doing their own session. The track sessions take place from 7pm until 8pm.
Track sessions are an excellent way of mixing things up and building speed. Each session will include a comprehensive warm up to reduce the risk of injury.
Remember, hill sessions are a warm up to track sessions so the best preparation for track is to go to a few Tuesday hill sessions first.
