Wirral Multi-Terrain League

The Wirral Multi-Terrain League has been going for over 35 years with short breaks for Foot and Mouth and Covid. It is organised by representatives of local clubs (Pensby Runners, Birkenhead AC, Wallasey AC, West Cheshire Athletic club and Wirral AC) and each take it in turn to put on  a race. The Royden Park event is the Pensby Runners organised event. 

Runners taking part are all members of UKA affiliated clubs. There are individual and team prizes up for grabs.

Junior races also are organised and typically are about half of the distance run by adults.

The races take place each year on Tuesdays in September. Each of the 4 races is held over various terrain such as sand, rocks, mud and hills at distances between 6.5k and 8k. Please direct any enquiries to Nigel Crompton, Series Director: info@runtrue.org

Please can all entrants be sure that if they enter one of these events that they are able to complete the event in 1 hour or less. This is for the safety of both competitors and volunteers.

Prize giving will follow the final race at Arrowe Park on the 22nd April in the Golf Club. 

1st September – Wirral Country Park, Thurstaston, 7.00 pm
8th September – Royden Park, Frankby, 7pm
15th September – Harrison Drive, Wallasey,  7pm
22nd September – Arrowe Park (Cherry Orchard) 6.30pm and presentation in the Arrowe Park Golf Club afterwards.
