Cross Country
Come and join in the fun at a Cross Country (XC) race, it’s a great way to keep running throughout winter. Often muddy, you’ll need trail shoes or XC spikes.
All abilities are welcome, in fact the further back you are, the more team there will be to cheer you at the finish line!
Sunday League
For the North-West Sunday Cross-Country League (NWSCCL), the more runners we have the better. All the races are free to enter – you just need to turn up in your Pensby Runners vest.
Races are all approx. 8km (5 miles) and there’s often cake at the end.

Championship Races
If you fancy more of a challenge and testing yourself against some elite runners, we also include these Championship races in our calendar. They take place on Saturdays and require advance registration; the club will pay your entry fee for these races.

Annual intra-club Cross Country competition
Last but not least, we have an annual intra-club Cross Country competition across a series of races. Points are accumulated for each Pensby Runner according to how many races they do and their finish position in each race.
